Kick The Habit, Not The Bucket

Contrary to social perception, a significant amount of the United States population are still smokers. Even though the desire to quit is present for most of these smokers, many of them think that it is too difficult to stop smoking. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome when considering the option of not smoking. The withdrawal from the drug of nicotine and the effects that it has in the brain can frequently cause depression and aggravation on a daily basis for those who have been smoking for long periods of time. When considering the option to stop smoking, it is very important to do your homework - to make sure that you are aware of each obstacle you will overcome before confronting them face-to-face.

Making a list of each of these obstacles in the process is a great start to stop smoking. Once this list is made, an individual can take some time to themselves to plan out how they will cope with each of these challenges, as well as how to make the withdrawal symptoms less stressful for those around them as well as themselves.

Another advantageous approach to stop smoking is to join a support group of sorts for those who have made the same life choice. These kind of groups can be reinforcing when it comes to daily reminders of why you made the decision to stop smoking. When you make this decision, it will be a daily battle; a decision you must make every day for yourself. Staying determined in your course of action to stop smoking is much easier when approached with a group of people in the like same mind as yourself.

Pitfalls Along the Road of Quitting

There are many obstacles to overcome when attempting to stop smoking. It will ultimately be one of the most difficult decisions that you make in your life. The only difference is that you will have to make the decision to stop smoking every day for what will seem like a significant period of time. The chemical affront taking place on your body has to do with the neurological receptors in your brain that have increased in appetite for the nicotine drug. This drug is one of the more addicting in existence, and the side effects of withdrawal can not only be annoying to you and those around you, but painful as well.

Quit Smoking With Acupuncture - If You Need The Answer - This Is It!

Quit Smoking With Acupuncture - One of The Many Ways to Quit Smoking

There are literally thousands of people that have tried to quit smoking without any type of assistance from anyone, however, their body resist’s the change that they are trying to make. If you are one of those people that has tried to quit without any assistance and have come up short, there are many options that you might consider trying. For starters, you might consider acupuncture. Acupuncture therapy is relatively new and unknown in the United States. Acupuncture has been used in Asia though, for a long time.

Although there is no scientific evidence that acupuncture is one of the best ways to quit smoking, research in the private sector, has proven to be extremely effective in helping people to kick the cigarette smoking addiction, and relatively fast too.

If you have not heard of acupuncture, and you are wondering just what it is and how it works, the first thought that comes to mind with the word ‘puncture’ might be ‘pain’. Well contrary to the way it sounds, acupuncture is not painful at all. the acupuncturist, simply places tiny needles at predetermined point to produce the desired results. By placing the tiny needles at these specific pressure points, or ‘acupoints’ it relieves the pressure related to smoking.

To break it down to the simplest form, think of it this way. When you smoke cigarettes, the nicotine releases the neurotransmitter acetylcholine into the brain, as well as endorphins that are also responsible for this large release of the neurotransmitter. In theory, the affects of acupuncture work in the same way that nicotine works on the brain, by stimulating those same neurotransmitters and by stimulating the production of acetylcholine, We are then able to produce the same psychosomatic effects on the brain as if they were smoking. This is why acupuncture works so well, and so fast. You are actually fooling your brain. Your brain doesn’t know that you have quit smoking.

Now, once again, this is the theory behind acupuncture. I do know many people though that tried acupuncture. Out of the many ways to quit smoking, acupuncture closely parallels hypnosis. Both effect the way the brain feels about smoking. They are just achieved in a little different approach. Acupuncture, would be a great backup to hypnosis, if there was just scientific evidence to prove that it actually has the same chemical reaction as nicotine has.

The bottom line is this, there are many ways to quit smoking. Acupuncture is but one of them. Acupuncture to quit smoking, is not very expensive, in fact there are much more costly routes than acupuncture. There is no pain to it. It feels like someone toughed you with a pin. Probably the best of all, is that it works. I have known many people that have quit smoking permanently, by using acupuncture.

Remember, your goal is to quit smoking, period! Quit smoking however you can. As is true with all methods, one thing remains true, you jave to want it! While there are many ways to quit smoking, there is no one method that is known to be 100%. Keep trying until you find the way that works for you. Anti Smoking Campaigns

When it comes to launching a successful anti cigarette smoking campaign you are not alone. There are many other people in the same position that you are in right now. They are sick and tired of feeling sick from being tied to tobacco products. Their habits are expensive and drive many to work longer hours just to be able to afford the ever increasing prices of cigarettes.

When you try to cease smoking, you can get more Quit Smoking Help by visiting quit smoking websites and blogs than you can just going at it all alone. The reality is that quitting smoking is not an easy task. Sure, the commercials for Chantix boast a 44% quit smoking success rate. And sure, some people do find instant and immediate success by quitting “cold turkey” so to speak. But the majority find that method is just to difficult for them to be successful.

You can get more help by visiting the quit smoking websites like this one you are reading this article on. Or you can surf around and find others. The beauty of the internet is that most of them are free.

One of the first sites you should check out is the American Lung Associations website. They have all types of resources there for your use. And of course they won’t ask you to pay a dime.

The best anti cigarette sites will have an interactive community of people that have visited the site. Most will leave a story that details their personal experiences with quit smoking products, pill, patches, hypnotherapy and the like.

Even the new pills like Zyban and Chantix may be reviewed there as well. The greatest benefit is that these are non-paid for endorsements or experiences. People tend to tell you the real truth when they are not being compensated in some way for it.

This is the problem with celebrity endorsements. Everyone knows they are being handsomely paid to pitch the product to you. And in reality, they probably wouldn’t even use the product if they weren’t being paid.

Sometimes when you attempt a quit smoking program you may experience withdrawal symptoms. This is perfectly normal if you use the traditional smoking cessation programs. Many people report that the withdrawal symptoms is what drove them back to smoking again. The first 48 hours is crucial because that stretch of time has been documented to be the most intense period for withdrawal symptoms. After that, its all down hill so to speak.

If you use a novel system that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) you can avoid the withdrawal symptoms all together. How does that sound?

Not only can CBT avoid those symptoms but it is easy to learn and use to quit smoking. If you can read this piece and understand that the weight gain problem, agitation and anxiety issues that accompany smoking cessation is something you’d like to avoid, you should surf around online and research this method for sure. If you do you will get a real education in one of if not the best quit smoking methods available today without a prescription.
